​The French as a Second Language program in Wellington Catholic offers a core French experience to students in grades 4 through 12, exposing them to both oral and written communication, and promoting an appreciation for the French culture.  Our core French program is offered from grades 4 through 12.  The French program is mandatory from grade 4 through grade 9.  Emphasis is placed on speaking and listening, although reading and writing are also important components of the program. To graduate from secondary school, students need 1 credit in French (which is typically taken in grade 9), and may also count 2 other French credits towards the 18 compulsory credits they need to receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
